16,000 Certified Learners

December 2020 by Helen Filby

As a direct result of the hard work put in by our founders and teamtrustees, dedicated volunteers, brilliant trainers and partner organisations, we have now reached 16,000 learners certified as Carbon Literate! Through a particularly challenging year, we’re delighted to hit this target just before the end of 2020, meaning that over 32,000 actions have been pledged in communities, businesses, local authorities, schools and universities, across the UK and beyond, helping work towards zero-carbon. We look forward to taking this momentum through to 2021, and helping ensure that more people than ever before have access to Carbon Literacy training.

Having a distance delivered Carbon Literacy course is important in organisations that have been working on Carbon Literacy for a while, as well as to support new organisations who are keen to get to work but, without the face-to-face courses, would otherwise not have access to experiencing the training themselves. The Carbon Literacy Project is still supporting organisations in a number of ways as they adapt or design their courses around this new format, find out more here.
