We are thrilled to announce, that as we’re coming to the end of 2021, we’ve reached another learner milestone!
24,000 learners are now certified as Carbon Literate. This means that over 48,000 actions have been pledged – in communities, businesses, local authorities, schools and universities, across the UK and beyond – to take meaningful action towards a zero-carbon society.
Numbers have been accelerating at a truly mind-blowing rate throughout the year, and we have now certified a record 8,000 learners since the beginning of 2021; beating our 2020 record of newly certified learners by almost double! This has been boosted by our Carbon Literacy Action Day which took place on the 1st of November, where an incredible 502 learners were trained across multiple sectors, organisations, institutions and communities, and key to this, pledged an individual and group action that they will take forward to act on climate change within their sphere.
We’ve been inspired by the work of all trainers and organisations across the board this year, and want to again thank the Carbon Literacy community for making this all possible.
As ever, if you would like to find out how Carbon Literacy might work in your organisation, please get in touch.
