The Carbon Literacy Project proudly hosts an annual Trainer Celebration Evening to recognise the work and achievements of Carbon Literacy trainers who have reached Level 2: Carbon Literacy Trainer (CLT) and Level 3: Carbon Literacy Consultant (CLC) certification. Carbon Literacy Training Organisations (CLTO) are also invited to this event to acknowledge the role they are playing in advancing Carbon Literacy across sectors.

This inspiring event brings together trainers from across the Carbon Literacy community, representing a rich diversity of delivery backgrounds. It’s an opportunity to network with experienced trainers and receive recognition from the Project for your contribution to supporting the growth of Carbon Literacy.

Following a food and drinks reception, presentations are held to reflect on the achievements and impact of Carbon Literacy Trainers and Consultants. CLCs will be awarded a certificate and bespoke badge to mark their exemplary status. CLTOs are also invited on stage to receive a certificate to celebrate their expertise in the field of Carbon Literacy delivery.

Our Trainer Directory is a resource designed to connect organisations that need additional support with Carbon Literacy delivery with experienced trainers in the Carbon Literacy Trainer Network. Every trainer listed has achieved either Level 2 (CLT) or Level 3 (CLC) through our Trainer Certification Scheme, giving organisations confidence in your expertise.

Each profile includes a short bio outlining the trainer’s specialisms and geographical availability, making it easy for an organisation to find someone who aligns with its requirements.

Our Trainer Certification Scheme enables Carbon Literacy trainers to build credibility and visibility through three progressive levels of certification to be achieved in succession. Each level is designed to recognise the trainer’s experience and contribution to Carbon Literacy.

Level 1: Carbon Literacy Facilitator (CLF) – This entry-level certification is free and open to all, making it an accessible starting point for trainers. It provides an opportunity to step into the certified trainer community and gain recognition for your involvement.

Level 2: Carbon Literacy Trainer (CLT) – Tailored for professional trainers, this certification showcases greater expertise and level of experience in Carbon Literacy. CLTs benefit from visibility on our Trainer Directory and receive personalised introductions to organisations seeking external trainers.

Level 3: Carbon Literacy Consultant (CLC)– Reserved for the most experienced trainers, this is an invitation-only certification from The Carbon Literacy Project. It is awarded to those trainers who are operating at the highest level, acknowledging exceptional leadership, impact and excellence in delivering Carbon Literacy at scale.

Train-the-Trainer courses help you to take the next step towards achieving your Level 2 Carbon Literacy Trainer certification. The courses are accredited by The Carbon Literacy Project and are delivered by external partners. These courses are designed to develop your training skills and give you a full understanding of The Carbon Literacy Standard. They also provide opportunities to receive feedback from experienced Carbon Literacy trainers, with ongoing support.
