Carbon Literacy Action Day 2024
On the 14th of November 2024, we weld the fourth annual Carbon Literacy Action Day, coinciding with COP29. Each year, the Action Day catalyses action on climate change through catalysing Carbon Literacy training, getting citizens across the globe to address climate change wherever they are.
This year saw a record-breaking result as we held the largest, and most international CLAD yet!

Carbon Literacy Community Pot
Want to empower your community to take climate action, but facing funding barriers?
Our Community Pot aims to improve access to Carbon Literacy training for those who might otherwise struggle to afford the costs associated with initiating training.
In our next funding round, funded services will be available for low-income and underrepresented groups who want to empower voices in their community to take their best action on climate change.

Carbon Literate Localities
Carbon Literate Localities (CLL) is an initiative bringing together individuals, organisations and sectors that belong to a geographically defined location to support and collaborate through their collective Carbon Literacy and climate action journey.
A Carbon Literate Locality is defined geographically, registered as an initiative with The Carbon Literacy Project, and has a foundational target number of Carbon Literate citizens based on the official population of the locality.

Past Campaigns
Carbon Literacy Snowball Effect
From 3rd – 10th December 2024, we took part in the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge for the second year in a row.
During this campaign, we introduced the Carbon Literacy Snowball Effect, and surpassed our fundraising target which will support our mission to bring Carbon Literacy to new sectors and reach more communities than ever before in 2025!

Empower Global Communities with Carbon Literacy
From 18th – 25th April 2024, we took part in the Green Match Fund, the largest match funding campaign that supports environmental charities to double their impact.
Through this campaign, we raised funds to provide greater access to Carbon Literacy in the Global South at a fair price, enabling more learners to gain the skills required to thrive in our changing world, catalysing climate action on an international scale.

Carbon Literacy Goes Global!
From 28th November – 5th December 2023, we took part in the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge – the UK’s biggest match funded campaign!
For one week only, any donations made to our festive fundraiser – Carbon Literacy Goes Global – were matched by supporting organisations, therefore doubling the impact and helping donations go even further in supporting our cause and mission of globalisation in 2024.

Carbon-bola
In July 2023 we brought to you the Carbon-bola – our Carbon Literacy Tombola, a prize draw where one lucky winner had the chance to win a bundle of Patagonia goodies to help on their outdoor adventures.

Carbon Literacy Double
In April 2023, we took part in the Big Give’s Green Match Fund – a week-long match funding campaign that supports environmental charities.
During this week, any donations made to our campaign – the Carbon Literacy Double – were matched and therefore doubled, supporting our mission to double in size and impact after a successful 2022.

10 for 10 Accelerator
2022 was an exciting year here at The Carbon Literacy Project, as we celebrated our 10 year anniversary! To mark the occasion, we ran our first-ever major fundraiser – the 10 for 10 Accelerator.
We saw an incredible amount of community and generosity throughout 2022 for our 10 for 10 Accelerator, as we received support from hundreds of individuals, members of our Trainer network, organisations and personal fundraisers – all in the name of Carbon Literacy!
