KSB Become the First Scottish CLTO

December 2018 by Helen Filby
After much hard work, Keep Scotland Beautiful is thrilled to have become the first fully certified Carbon Literacy Training Organisation in Scotland. They posted a short insert on their website to mark the occasion:

‘The accreditation recognises the environmental charity as the go-to for organisations in Scotland that want to establish a low carbon culture – helping them to tackle climate change in the workplace and at home.

Our chief executive, Derek Robertson, said: “We are really pleased to be accredited as the first Carbon Literacy Training Organisation in Scotland. I hope that this official endorsement helps to provide confidence that Keep Scotland Beautiful can help to support them on their journey towards carbon reduction.

“We look forward to supporting many more people across Scotland and enabling individuals and businesses to play their part in tackling climate change.”

We have been working with The Carbon Literacy Project since 2016. Having helped more than 430 people in Scotland to become Carbon Literate, this recent endorsement demonstrates Keep Scotland Beautiful’s unique experience in creating and delivering Carbon Literacy training solutions.

Managing Director of The Carbon Literacy Project, Dave Coleman said: “We’re delighted to recognise Keep Scotland Beautiful’s expertise as a Carbon Literacy Training Organisation. This is a well-deserved award which highlights the strong track record that the charity has of supporting people in Scotland to become Carbon Literate. As the first organisation in Scotland to receive this award, Keep Scotland Beautiful should be very proud.”

We support businesses, third sector organisations and communities across Scotland to:

  • Gain a detailed understanding of the carbon impacts of their activities
  • Make informed choices about the lower carbon options available to them
  • Be confident about the benefits to individuals and organisations of building a low carbon future’

Congratulations to Keep Scotland Beautiful, keep up the good work!
