Manchester Carbon Literate City (MCLC) is an initiative bringing together:

With a foundational target for the number of Carbon Literate people needed to achieve this status, this initiative is delivered and championed by all those who belong within the locality who:

In order to achieve Carbon Literate Locality status, 15% of people based on the ONS population figure for the City of Manchester will be formally certified as Carbon Literate – as of 2024: that’s 85,349 people.
