Deadline for CLO Applications: 6pm Friday 27th February 2026
The Next CLO Award Ceremony: June 2026, Manchester (Further Details TBC)
In June 2026, we will hold our seventh Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) Awards! Which means, now is the time to apply for CLO accreditation.
Engaging with Carbon Literacy and becoming a CLO is a proven way for organisations to accelerate their climate action, show their commitment to the low-carbon agenda, and help reach net-zero targets.
Whether you have been delivering Carbon Literacy for years or only recently begun your roll-out, a rapid shift to zero carbon is what the science requires of every person, product, and organisation. So, capitalise on CLO accreditation now to accelerate your organisation’s trajectory towards a low-carbon future.
What is a CLO?
Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) accreditation offers organisations a visible ‘badge’ that showcases commitment to Carbon Literacy. Organisations accredited as a CLO have a substantial proportion of their workforce certified as Carbon Literate and take significant actions to accelerate a low-carbon culture.
Why become a CLO?
A Carbon Literate Organisation will typically experience decreased in-house energy and resource consumption, improved organisational profile, healthier and happier staff, a healthier working environment, a safer supply chain, lower variable costs, enhanced competitiveness, and reduced commercial risk. CLO accreditation also demonstrates an organisation’s corporate social responsibility in the clearest possible way.
The CLO Awards ceremony
At last year’s CLO awards ceremony, we recognised 84 newly accredited CLOs from a wide range of sectors. CEOs and sustainability leaders from CLOs in the UK and internationally shared their experiences with Carbon Literacy, videos of which are available to watch via our YouTube channel. For further insight into what you can expect from the awards ceremony, take a look at our snapshot of the CLO Awards 2025.
Due to the continued growth in the number of organisations achieving CLO accreditation in the past year, we expect the CLO Awards 2026 to be packed with awardees from a vast range of sectors, all coming together to celebrate their achievement. We hope to see you there, too!
