Call For Applications: CLO Awards 2021

November 2020 by Helen Filby

Key Information

The Next CLO Award Ceremony: Spring 2021 (Details TBC)
Deadline for CLO Applications: 6 pm Friday 26th February 2021

During the spring of 2021, we will be holding our long-awaited third Carbon Literacy Awards!

Engaging with Carbon Literacy and becoming a Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) is a fantastic way for organisations to accelerate their climate-change action, show their commitment to the low carbon agenda, and help reach our climate targets. Due to the unforeseen global pandemic, we were not able to hold our award ceremony in 2020 – meaning 2021 will be double-packed with this year and next year’s awardees in attendance – we hope to see you there too!

Whether you’re based in Greater Manchester or further afield, have been rolling out Carbon Literacy for years or only just come across it, a rapid shift to zero carbon is what the science requires of every person, product, and organisation. So start 2021 as you mean to go on, and use Carbon Literacy to bring about a low carbon culture for your people. Contact us by email – info@carbonliteracy.com or by phone – 0161 298 1782 and we can help advise you on the most effective ways to accredit your people and organisation.

To make the deadline for the next wave of Carbon Literate Organisation accreditations, applications must be completed and submitted to The Project, with the appropriate fee, by 6 pm Friday 26th February 2021.

About CLO

The Project developed the Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) accreditation to offer organisations a visible ‘badge’ that showcases them as committed to Carbon Literacy, having a substantial number of people who are Carbon Literate, as well as having a commitment to support their Carbon Literate people and maintain their low carbon culture.

Find out which organisations are already accredited here.

How to Apply

If your organisation is interested in becoming accredited as a Carbon Literate Organisation, please follow the link to our downloadable Carbon Literate Organisation Pack which contains the forms you’ll need to apply, as well as more information on how to apply and fees.

You can find out more about the process to become a CLO here.

A friendly note

Please note that late applications cannot be guaranteed a place at the Awards Ceremony (due to the lead time required to have your custom-made CLO trophy manufactured from recycled wood, by our lovely supplier – it’s out of our control!). Please apply nice and early and we’ll be in a much better position to assist you.
