Struggling to attract colleagues to your Carbon Literacy training?

If a ‘day’s worth’ of training might put off would-be Carbon Literate learners in your workplace or community, there’s a great solution: The Public Emergency Briefing. It’s a superbly produced 50-minute film, presented by naturalist and TV presenter Chris Packham, about the National Emergency Briefing.

The Briefing was a historic event in Westminster in November where ten experts presented the urgency of, and the benefits of, action on climate and nature. The film has condensed the event, alongside members of the public and a smattering of celebs, including Jennifer Saunders. It manages to be both sobering and deeply inspiring.

The organisers have produced superb guidance and resources for people putting on the film – all the way from publicity artwork to guidance on facilitating the post-showing discussion. There’s even a Canva file so you can make your own publicity artwork. There are also frequent previews for people interested in showing the film. The discussion enables you to frame the issues raised around your workplace, sector or community. While it’d be great to have a VIP attending, the emphasis is on discussion, getting people involved – and thus, hopefully, signing up for Carbon Literacy training.
