Achieving your 2025 goals

Having now got 2025 off to a fantastic start, you’ve likely set your targets for the year ahead when it comes to your sustainability plans. Carbon Literacy will help you achieve these goals by engaging your people, fostering ownership and facilitating meaningful action.

Recognising this, you might have already factored Carbon Literacy into your sustainability plans and have an idea of what you’d like to achieve this year.

What Carbon Literacy goals could you set?

  • Individual certification – do you have an idea of the total number of staff, volunteers, students and/or community members that you are hoping to certify?
  • Course accreditation – are you planning to create and accredit any new courses for different audiences?
  • Trainer certification – if you are delivering Carbon Literacy training but are not yet accredited, you might want to apply for our official Carbon Literacy Trainer (CLT) certification.
  • CLO or CLE accreditation – you might want to apply for your organisation to achieve Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) or, if you are an educator, a Carbon Literate Educator (CLE), accreditation, or progress to the next tier.
  • Become a Partner – you may wish to donate to be formally recognised as a Friend or Partner of The Carbon Literacy Project under our Partner Scheme.
  • Carbon Literacy Action Day – you might want to prepare to participate in the Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) in November*, and be in with the chance to win the exclusive CLAD Catalyst Award.

Use any year-end surplus wisely

Now is the perfect time to set and start to action these goals, particularly if your organisation has structured budgeting tied into the approaching public sector (30th March) or tax year-end (5th April). If your year-end is approaching, you may have a budget underspend for this year, or a little budget left over. You’ll want to spend it on something useful which will support your goals in the year ahead. Luckily, Carbon Literacy purchases don’t expire, so you can purchase now, before the year-end deadline, and use your purchases when you’re ready later in the year – preserving your budget for next year in the process.

Lock in prices now

Even if you don’t have a year-end surplus to use up, locking in your purchases now to commit to your goals is still a wise move. After over a decade of inflation, we recognise that we finally have to raise the £10 base certification cost for most organisations, and prices will have to rise across all accreditation types later this year. More details will be announced in the next few months, but don’t wait – secure certification and other Carbon Literacy purchases at current prices now.

Invest in Carbon Literacy

Invest now in…

  • Individual certification – Carbon Literacy Certificate Applications don’t expire, so bulk-purchase a bank for use throughout the year and/or as part of CLAD.
  • Course Accreditations – pre-purchase now, for when your course is ready to be reviewed for accreditation.
  • Toolkit purchases – pre-purchase your relevant sector toolkit or shareable course, to deliver whenever you’re ready.
  • Trainer certifications (CLT) – pre-purchase now, ready for when you have all the evidence to submit your application.
  • CLO or CLE accreditation – pre-purchase now, ready for when you have all the evidence to submit your application.
  • Partner status – donate now and get your Partner badge and exclusive benefits immediately.

An investment in Carbon Literacy is an investment in future-proofing your organisation – not just for the year but for the years ahead.
